For bareboat charters, we require demonstrated sailing experience appropriate to the vessel size and cruising area. This typically includes proof of previous charters, sailing certifications (such as ASA 104 or equivalent), and a detailed sailing resume. First-time charterers may be asked to complete a brief on-water assessment with our team.
Bareboat charter rates include the yacht, standard equipment, dinghy, linens, towels, cooking equipment, safety gear, and comprehensive insurance. Crewed charter rates additionally include professional crew, all meals and standard beverages onboard, and use of standard water sports equipment. Fuel, mooring fees, special provisions, and premium activities are typically additional, though we offer all-inclusive packages as well.
The primary charter season in Canada runs from May through September, with July and August offering the warmest temperatures and most reliable conditions. However, the shoulder seasons (May-June and September-October) can provide excellent value with fewer crowds and still-favorable weather. Different regions have slight variations - British Columbia has a longer season than the Atlantic provinces, for example.
For peak season charters (July-August), we recommend booking 6-12 months in advance, especially for specific yachts or popular crewed charters. Shoulder season availability is typically better with 3-6 months' notice. Corporate events and special celebrations should be booked with maximum lead time to ensure full customization options.
While our rigorous maintenance program minimizes issues, we provide 24/7 technical support for all charters. Our response includes immediate phone support, dispatching technicians to your location when possible, and in rare cases where repairs cannot be made quickly, arranging alternative vessels or accommodation.
